Dr. Ron Sahu for
Alhambra City Council, District 1
Rooted in Alhambra
For more than 35 years, Dr. Ron Sahu has called Alhambra home. He raised his family here, sent his children to local public schools, and has dedicated decades to protecting and improving the community he loves. As a nationally recognized environmental engineer with a Ph.D. from Caltech, Ron has built a career solving complex problems, making tough decisions based on facts, and delivering real-world results.
Protecting What Makes Alhambra Special
Ron brings unmatched experience to the challenges facing Alhambra. He has served on the Planning Commission and Environmental Sustainability Commission, helped update the City's General Plan and Zoning Code, and has spent years working alongside residents to protect neighborhoods, parks, and public resources. Whether stopping development proposals on contaminated land or advocating for responsible growth, Ron has consistently put the interests of Alhambra residents first.
A Teacher, Scientist, and Proven Problem Solver
An educator as well as an engineer, Ron taught for more than two decades at Caltech, UCLA, USC, Loyola Marymount, UC Riverside, and Cal State Fullerton. His career has been built on research, analysis, and accountability—qualities that are essential for effective leadership. He understands city budgets, land-use planning, environmental issues, and the importance of transparent government.
Solutions, Not Politics
Alhambra deserves leadership that can be effective from Day One. At a time when residents are concerned about rising costs, lack of transparency, and the future of our community, Ron offers proven experience, independent thinking, and a track record of public service. He has spent decades studying the issues, serving the community, and finding solutions—and he's ready to put that experience to work for Alhambra.
